The National Endowment for Democracy (NED), in cooperation with the Newseum Institute and the Rabin Chair Forum of George Washington University, invites you to a film screening of “Watching the Moon at Night,” a 90-minute creative documentary with a personal tone. Filmed in six countries, Watching the Moon at Night looks at contemporary terrorism and anti-Semitism and focuses on the victims’ experiences, juxtaposing them against the views of world experts in this field. As a result, the film goes far beyond the stereotyped perception of terrorism. Historian Walter Laqueur, philosopher André Glucksmann, and historian Robert Wistrich are among the film’s featured experts.
Following the film screening, there will be a panel discussion featuring filmmaker Bo Persso; Newseum President and CEO Jeffrey Herbst; Walter Reich, Yitzhak Rabin Professor of Int’l Affairs, Ethics, and Human Behavior, GWU Elliott School for International Affairs; and Bruce Hoffman, Professor and Director, Georgetown University Center for Security Studies.
