Call for Applications – Reagan-Fascell Democracy Fellowships

The Reagan-Fascell Democracy Fellows Program is an international exchange program that offers activists, scholars and journalists from around the world the opportunity to spend five months at the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) in Washington, D.C., to undertake independent research on democratic challenges in their home countries and beyond. Housed at NED’s International Forum for Democratic Studies, the program runs two fellowship sessions per year, during which fellows reflect on their experiences; conduct research and writing; consider best practices and lessons learned; and develop professional relationships within a global network of democracy advocates.

The online application system for Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 fellowships is now open, with applications due October 15, 2016. The fellowship is intended primarily for activists, journalists, and scholars from developing and aspiring democracies; distinguished scholars from established democracies are also welcome to apply. Applicants should have substantial experience in their fields and a working knowledge of English.
